Operations Director or Operations Manager

Join Our Team as an Operations Director or an Operations Manager for Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network!

The vacancy is for either an Operations Director with the appropriate experience and background or an Operations Manager who has the aspiration with support and development to grow into an Operations Director role.

We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Director or Operations Manager to support our efforts at the Dorset and Somerset Training Provider network.

The Dorset and Somerset Training Provider network is a dynamic and collaborative not for p[profit network of Independent Training Providers, Colleges, employers, stakeholders and industry partners dedicated to delivering top-tier training and skill development programs to our communities. We are committed to collaboration, inspirational learning, fostering growth, innovation, and learning across various sectors.

Position: Operations Director or Operations Manager

Location: Dorset and Somerset, working from home with regular visits to members and stakeholders

Salary: £40,000 to £60,000 (commensurate with experience and the role)

 

Role and Responsibilities:

As the Operations Director/Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of our member services, projects and meeting local priorities and initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute operational strategies that align with the organization’s goals, driving efficiency, effectiveness and success in program delivery.

Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of dedicated professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and efficiency.

Service Optimisation: Identify opportunities for service improvements, streamlining operations to enhance the quality of our initiatives, projects and services.

Project management: Lead a variety of projects to meet KPI’s and service expectations, within budget and encouraging innovation and service improvement.

Resource Allocation: Manage resources effectively, including budgets, staffing, and facilities, to ensure optimal utilisation and cost-effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including educational institutions, stakeholders, industry partners, and regulatory bodies, to ensure a cohesive approach to strategy, program development and delivery.

Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of operations, making data and feedback-driven decisions to achieve continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications:

  • A level 4 qualification minimum and relevant work-based competency.
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably within the education or training sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and take people with you.
  • Proficiency in project management and service optimisation.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and resource allocation.
  • A passion for education and skill development.
  • A passion for the counties of Dorset & Somerset.
