Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network Ltd (DSTPN) is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee with a membership consisting of fee-paying members who are training organisations, colleges, employers, and stakeholder bodies delivering and working in the post 16 education and training sector.
DSTPN provide a range of services for the membership and community and are working in partnership with Somerset County Council to manage and deliver the Community Renewal Fund (CRF) Step Up To Mobile Outreach Project, funded by the Government.
DSTPN are a team of 6 currently delivering the organisation member services and project objectives.
This vacancy is for two ‘Employment and Skills Advisors’ for the ‘Step Up To Mobile Outreach project’, a full-time role, or can be split between part time advisors. The successful candidates will offer support to members of the community across Somerset a minimum of three days a week at events that will be organised for the purpose of the support in the community. The remaining two days are for client follow up, administration and preparation.
The salary is £30,451 per annum and the initial contract is to 31st October 2022. Usual benefits apply. There may be an opportunity to extend the role past this date.
A day in the life of an Employment & Skills Advisor for 3 days per week will start with driving the lease car to the venue for that day, set up the event resources that may include the gazebo (if outside space is used), the project resources and the laptops or tablets. During the day offer structured and professional advice to the members of the community who attend the pre advertised event on employment and skills. Professional external agencies are partnering the project and will be available to support the advisor and the clients. The advisor will be supported with resources and access to agencies. During the day the relevant information and data will be captured on the project online portal.
The remaining two days per week will be for client follow up, administration and preparation.

Interviews will be held in person if Coronavirus requirements and safety allows or via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 21st April 2022, the interview panel will consist of 3 members maximum.
