Good News for Somerset Schools:
Your future. SORTED! Schools Support Programme Continues

Following the delivery of last year’s Your Future. SORTED Schools Support Programme across Somerset, you will be pleased to hear that under the Somerset Careers Hub Future Ready programme, Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network will continue to offer its services supporting pre-identified Year 9 students and, wherever possible, other secondary school students.

This School Support Service will be led by our Specialist Adviser Joanne, who will continue to deliver vital impartial careers guidance on apprenticeships and technical education.

Alongside this dedicated support, students, schools and parents will continue to have access to the free Your future. SORTED! Directories and Your future! SORTED Skills Elevators.

From 1st September 2026, our ‘Your future. SORTED!’ offer will include:

Targeted Support for Identified Future Ready Students: A dedicated 1–2 hour, fun-packed session for Year 9 students, focusing on their individual progression pathways.
Awareness Assembly (where identified schools can accommodate): A whole-year assembly focused on apprenticeships, from Foundation to Higher and Degree levels, and technical education, such as T Levels. Each session will last a minimum of 30 minutes, followed by a Q&A to maximise impact and student engagement.
Careers Fair Attendance: Our team will be available to attend your school’s careers fairs, offering direct support and information to students and parents where impactful engagement can be achieved.
Your future. SORTED! Directories: Comprehensive online resources providing students, parents/carers, teachers and stakeholders with up-to-date information on training and career options. This includes apprenticeships, T Levels, internships, SEND progression opportunities and details of local training providers. These resources are free to download.
Skills Elevators: Resources providing details of where to access support, study or engage with independent training providers, colleges and universities, helping people explore opportunities, learning and apprenticeships. These resources are free to downloa
